The EV is available at your local Porsche Center with 28 and 33-module battery options to match your lifestyle needs.
What is the Range of the 2025 Porsche Taycan?
Battery Options and Driving Range
The 2025 Taycan comes equipped with a 28-module Performance Battery, which has a usable net capacity of 82.3 kWh. When fully charged, the base model offers an outstanding EPA-estimated 274* miles of range, whereas the more powerful 4S trim offers a slightly lower EPA-estimated 252 miles*.
Drivers who travel long distances frequently can choose the available 33-module Performance Battery Plus with a net capacity of 97 kWh. This upgrade improves the base model’s driving range to an impressive EPA-estimated 318* miles and the 4S trim’s to an EPA-estimated 295* miles. The larger capacity battery becomes standard as you move up the trim levels to the race-ready Turbo models, and offers up to an EPA-estimated 276* miles of electric performance on the top-of-the-line Turbo GT.
Range-Conserving Features
An automatically shifting two-speed transmission enables the Taycan to be quick off the line without sacrificing efficiency. The first gear transfers all of the sedan’s horses to the road when accelerating, while the second gear conserves electric range by lengthening the gear ratio and reducing the electric motor’s RPM once you reach highway speeds. This allows the Taycan to overcome a common EV problem—low highway MPGe.
Other range-saving technologies include the Taycan’s regenerative braking system, which switches the electric motors to generation mode as soon as the driver steps on the brake pedal. The recaptured energy is then transferred to recharge the battery while driving.
Charging Time
The base model takes just 18 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% when connected to an 850V DC fast charger that delivers up to 320 kW. This is made possible by the sedan’s 800-V technology, which uses smaller cable cross-sections than most other EVs. You can also connect the Taycan to a Level 1 or Level 2 AC charger to replenish the battery gently overnight.
Power Output
In the driver seat, you are in command of 402 hp and 302 lb-ft of torque, transferred to the road through the rear wheels. Flooring the pedal sends the Taycan from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds before it reaches its top speed of 143 mph.
While impressive, the entry-level Taycan is far from the most powerful in the lineup; the Turbo GT trim level houses two electric motors that churn out 1,019 hp and 914 lb-ft of torque. The fully loaded sedan rockets from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.1 seconds when combined with the Weissach Package.
Among the many reasons drivers are excited about the 2025 Taycan is its outstanding electric range. If you are looking to get your hands on a new Porsche Taycan, contact us at Porsche Fairfield in Fairfield, CT. We are happy to offer you a test drive!
